The worlds information is doubling every devil years. Inter-national Data corporation believes that the Digital Universe exit drive by 44 times that of 2009 by 2020. IBM estimatesthat selective information is growing at a compound annual growth rate of64% a year or more.2 In such a scenario discussion information inan effective manner is really important. There is a ample in-crease in information from experimental sciences. Data today comesin all types of formats. It may be structured or unstructured.Unstructured info is everywhere, some of the examples argonsatellite images, photographs and videos, social media data,scientific data, financial minutes and the list goes on.3Different types of information will have different properties.Managing and administration all these different variety of data isnot easy. Beyond that managing the data without affectingthe performance of the system is crucial. In this paper wewill be going through four research cover from the SessionData bases of CIKM 2012 Maui, HI, the States which discussesabout the Information storage and retrieval. We will dis-cuss techniques that provide a better solution to managedata. The research papers present a storage system for Bigspatio-temporal data, a model for positional ingress of rela-tional data, and approaches for querying DBpedia data andoptimization of Data migration.1.OVERVIEWIn this paper, four research papers are discussed whichfocus on the storage and retrieval of different varieties ofdata. In the further sections we discuss how the papers weselected have given different models and techniques for effi-cient data management operations like storage and retrievalof different varieties of data.The arrangement of the paper will be as follows, section2 will discuss... ... and how the approach gives betterperformance results. The other two papers Lushan et al7 and Xiulei et al 8 provide good insights about queringDBpedia and optimizing data migration respectively.Lastly, there are no generalized methods for loading, re-trieving or as a whole use and managing variety ofdata. Different approaches have to be used depending uponthe kinds of data. There are numerous tools for capturingdata and so the data is growing everyday larger and bigger.Consequently, there is going to be increase in the numberof tools to psychoanalyse the data because of its diversity. Eachtool or technique is precise to a particular kind of data. Atthe users end, one has to acquire various approaches to han-dle variety of data. To summarize, a generalized method ofhandling data would make life smooth. However, its noteasy to mark such a system.
